The Soccer

I was expecting some big posts in regards to the soccer from you guys? Looks like i'll have to fill in ...

Now I'm not the biggest soccer fan, don't get me wrong I like playing the game. But in terms of watching it it's almost *almost* as boring as cricket (That should generate some discussion from you friendly viewers)

In spite of this I joined in with a group of 10 or so people heading into Circular Key to watch the game. I made the clever decision of driving, a few came with me, a few bussed in.

The city was awesome, I loved the spirit and atmosphere, walking around tipsy with an Australian flag as a cape. Telling all ladies that i've been a soccer fan all my life, and I hate all those people who've just jumped on the soccer bandwagon ;)

Any who, it was pretty difficult to get a good viewing place, so we missed most of the first half, wandering round trying to find a pub still letting people in.

It was surreal, walking back streets of the rocks, in the distance hearing crazily loud roars and cheers.

Eventually we found a 7/11 that had set up a small TV outside and there were about 10 people watching, all from very different walks of life. That was what I liked, all these different people all united as Australians.

I went and got the car, and parked it right next to the TV so we watched the second half from the warmth of the car :)

Then the game ended, as we all know on that sour note .. We had a moments silence, did a U-turn, on the bridge, home.

Verdict - A good nite, inspite of the result and my mixed feelings of soccer, I enjoyed it and would do it again.

Next week: some big parties this weekend, expect pictures and stories

Heildelberg - Germany

Hey guys!

Thanks for the invite Matt! We've just been staying with Luke and Melanie the past few days in Potsdam (just outside Berlin), which has been awesome! Lots of football, BBQ's, drinking and relaxing. Tonight we're heading to Munchen for the Australia Vs Brazil match tomorrow. Go Aussies!! Glenn and I are prepared with our ginormous Australian flags.

Here's some pics from Heidelberg in Germany, even though we were there almost one month ago, ah well. Heidelberg's known for it's magnificent schloss (castle).

Musing

First of all ... Game 1 to NSW .. all Blues fans happy etc etc .. Game 2 to QLD .. every blues fan i know immediatly jumping on the "game is rigged" bandwagon ...

Matto is this the same in QLD ?? was everyone up there after Game 1 saying it was rigged ???

Secondly (and i dont believe the game is rigged) for all those people out there who think its rigged ... are you going to bother watching the 3rd game ? or indeed any other games ? seriously ... why would u bother if it's all rigged ...

Sorry to go on abit, but i plan to use all this material tonite for Timmay, Tommy etc etc as we watch tonites game.

Robbed

F**k the rabbitoh, yeah good work u fools, you can beat a team thats missing all their players. You won't win another game this season. And who picks a freaking Rabbit for thier mascot ???

F**k the dragons, i make my first knockout tipping comp, and i'm knocked out in the second freaking weak coz Gower can't get his act together.

F**k my car, coz my radiator just exploded.

On a ligher note Troppo is still on, i'll be commanding from Timmay's car. In spite of the score line i did get some good photos from tonite, and they and tomorow nite's will be posted soon

Myself and Tommy have also been selected to represent NSW against QLD in August for mixed Netball !!! sponsored trip to surfer's paradise !!! swish !!! yet I am a Maroon :( perhaps i should throw the game,
