After a very long hiatus, Fridgetown is back! Once a abuse board for disgruntled year 12 barrenjoey High School Students, now a great way of keeping in contact with the gang.

Blood Bowl - the game of Fantasy Football
For those of you who remember Blood Bowl was a great game GW produced about 15 (?) years ago.
It's basically a variation on American Football with a big emphasis on maiming your opponents as well as scoring Touchdowns.
Anywho, local boy Dolan Murray has kickstarted the game again in the area. We've got a game organised for tomorow at 11am kickoff, now i've never played at all before but i'm damn keen to give it a go.
I've been researching it on the net as of late to give me a bit of a heads up. The first drama is ofcourse which team to pick... There is a bewildering array to chose from (~20 teams?) but for me there is no choice ... Anything that involves Lizardmen or anything remotely reptilian is the default choice for me.

Also for any of you who've played the game before, any tips? Matto and Dave, looking at you.
Finally as my team progresses, i'll add player profiles etc to my MySpace Page AND best of all, Match Reports on a frequent basis!!

I don't get it... what's all this about lizard men... who is playing the game? You said its fantasy football but you have organised a game on saturday... doesn't make sense?

Lustrian Invitational nail Naggaroth A-grade 2-1 in thriller
The Lizardmen finished fast in their inaugural Blood Bowl match after overcoming a spirited Dark Elf outfit 2-1 at Murray Stadium.
After a turbulent week for the Lizardmen – which saw the formation of their club and the purchase of a whole new team from overseas the plucky Lizards triumphed after sprinting to an early 1-nil lead and then withstanding a Dark Elf fightback.
The Lizards surged to an 1-0 lead in the opening turns on the back of a superb break from a skink runner who before being pummelled into the crowd through the ball wide infield. Then a lucky bounce saw the move finished by the skink back Oxayotl.
Elsewhere the Lustrian forwards were terrific stamping their ownership over the Dark Elf players and sending several Elves into the bloodbin in both halves.
But after a dismal opening first half, the Dark Elves suddenly came to life late in the first half with an electrifying pass and catch to the Witch Elf in the Lizard's end zone. Touch down Dark Elves, with both teams heading to the sheds at halftime a touch down apiece.
But the turning point in the game would perhaps be when play restarted for the second half. Several hundred pro-Lustrian fans stormed onto the pitch severly injuring two of the Dark Elf players.
With their numbers already stretched from the brutal Lustrian onslaught in the first, it looked to be a case of how many Touchdowns the Lizards could score with their overwhelming numerical superiority.
But the boys from Naggaroth held on brilliantly. They forced the ball to the ground deep in the Lizards half and only from some very close calls in handling did they not get the ball over the line themselves.
The game looked set to be called a draw when a spectacular Lustrian play saw the ball picked up on their goalline and moved across the field to the halfway mark, a clever pass from one skink to another saw the little lizard sprint to the line and score right on the hooter!
It was a thrilling finish for what was overall a solid effort from the newcomers to the Blood Bowl League.
