Maths

No way Glennman. You simply didn't explain the question correctly.

you choose one of the doors, but instead of opening the door you chose, the host (knowing what door has the car) opens a different door, showing you a goat.

But in person you explained that the host will always open a door revealing a goat. I thought you where saying we picked the right door so the host opened a different door.


So whats the plan this weekend peeps?

It was a serious maths question.

And the correct answer was that you should have changed your first choice and picked the other door cause the other door now has a 2/3 chance of being correct and your original choice has still only a 1/3 chance. (not a 1/2 like most would think)

and you all just came up with stupid stories about stealing the car, so no-one wins the prize.

The host is a cheat

Dude the first door we picked he didn't open, so he is a cheat! So I think that means the first door has the car (as he knows), so id try that door again. But not before i screamed cheat and made him buy me a house before I blew the wissle on his corrupt little game show.

I would stick with the original choice

because instead of a 1 in 3 chance of winning, you now have a 1 in 2 chance of winning. Still, game show hosts are dodgy and could easily replace a car with a sheep as there are usually ad breaks between those vital moments of your final decision and finding out if you have won the prize or not, so your chances of winning are not very high indeed. My other reason for sticking with the original door choice is it saves all that "are you sure" "are you sure you're sure" "are you sure that you are really sure that you are sure you want to open that door". Often the best thing to do would be to punch the host, steal the car keys, nick off in the brand new car with (for you boys) the demonstration model who wears not much more than a bikini and the 2 sheep.

probability riddle

OK, heres one that confused me for a while, and was made famous on an american TV show.

You get to the final round of a game show and the host shows you three doors,
behind 2 of the doors is a goat, behind the other, a car.

you choose one of the doors, but instead of opening the door you chose, the host (knowing what door has the car) opens a different door, showing you a goat.

he then gives you the option, stick with your original choice, or choose the other door.

what do you do?

Does it matter? do you have the same chance of getting the car no matter what you do?

we lost soccer coz we suck..

hey andy, at work we came up with a band, we are gonna ccall ourselves "alive", and get this, 5 people, ALL lead guitarists, ALL lead singers.

Each person is just gonna jamm out guitar solo's over the top of each other, whilst yelling into the mic.

but the best part, when we play live, fireworks will be constantly shooting into the crowd, and there will be fire behind us.

we mite change the band name to "fire"

All we need to do now is learn guitar.

Super Star
